Fort Myers Police Officer Tyler Williams Arrested Due to Child's Death

Fort Myers Police Officer Tyler Williams was arrested for failing to report child abuse to the Department of Children and Families. According to media coverage and statements from the Fort Myers Police Department, Officer Williams pulled over Leslie Joe Zeagler on January 18th. Officer Williams found heroin and meth in the back seat with Zeagler's three year old daughter Serenity Robinson. Officer Williams did not report this to DCF, so they were never able to initiate proceedings to take Serenity away from her mother. A month later, Zeagler blacked out while driving and crashed into several trees. Three year old Serenity did not survive. Zeagler has since been charged with aggravated manslaughter and DUI.
