Orange is the new blue in Sacramento where officer Alexa Palubicki was arrested yesterday on two counts of falsifying police reports. Her troubles began when fellow officers ratted her out last July. The subsequent investigation lasted many months and led to a house cleaning in which several other officers were suspended, but the department has not released their names. According to media reports based on court documents, Palubicki and her partner stopped a black motorist on July 11, 2020. Palubicki approached the driver after he had "abruptly" pulled into a Shell station and gotten out of his vehicle. Palubicki told him that he had parked illegally, ran his name, found out he had a suspended license, and then searched his vehicle. The search was conducted over the motorist's objections and he complained verbally repeatedly that they did not have permission to search his vehicle. They did not have a search warrant for the vehicle. During the search they discovered Marijuana and a loaded handgun in a backpack. The motorist was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and driving with a suspended license. Palubicki wrote in her report that she observed the vehicle making a turn without a signal. That was later found to be a lie. Since the probably cause she cited as grounds for the stop was found to be false the case was thrown out. The SPD is now investigating every case she was involved with during the three years she worked there. Her partner has been suspended along with several other officers. We are not sure what the second count of her indictment is based on, but it is probably similar to the first. Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officer James Diamond was arrested yesterday on charges of possessing and distributing child pornography. Diamond was arrested by the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) outside a business not far from his Long Beach home. Search warrants were subsequently served on his place of employment in Los Angeles and his home in Long Beach. The LBPD has not disclosed the fruits of the searches. They simply claim that they identified Diamond while investigating child sexual abuse material. Diamond is charged with two felony counts of possession of child pornography and two felony counts of distribution of obscene matter depicting a minor. James Diamond is a 25 year veteran of the LAPD. He was last assigned to the personnel division. The LAPD has suspended Diamond's police powers and have launched their own internal investigation. Belton Police officer Derrall Foster was arrested for second degree assault and misconduct in office for inappropriately touching a woman at work. According to police reports, Foster slapped the woman on the butt and groped her breasts on numerous occasions between October 1, 2019 and July 31, 2020. He is also accused of sending her inappropriate text messages. He has been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of the case. Foster's arrested is quite the downfall for an officer who was hailed as a hero in 2019 after a viral video showed him saving a choking baby. He had only been on the force a few months. Former Winchester Police officer Tristan Delacruz was booked into the Franklin County Jail on a $1 million bond today. He faces six counts of rape, six counts of sexual battery, two counts of domestic assault, one count of false imprisonment, two counts of aggravated kidnapping, and one count of aggravated assault. Not much is know as to the specifics, but the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) began investigating him last fall and eventually concluded that he was responsible for a series of sexual assaults that took place in March of 2020. According to public records, Tristan Xavier Delacruz is a 28 year old resident of Fayetteville with a recent address in Winchester. The Fayetteville address 405 Washington Street West and the Winchester address is 1308 Paynes Church Road. Judge James Towery allowed a felon armed with several weapons, a silencer, and drugs free with no bail. Police Chief Eddie Garcia was livid. He called out Judge Towery publicly for endangering the public. Roughly two months later Eddie Garcia announced that he would be retiring from the San Jose Police Department.
