Deputy Kristofor O'Rourke of the Tompkins County Sheriff's Office in upstate New York was arrested recently on sexual assault charges for coercing an arrestee into giving him a blow job in exchange for a "courtesy ride" home from jail under threat of being taken back to jail. This past week Livingston County DA Greg McCaffrey announced the charges publicly. O'Rourke is currently charged with a third degree criminal sex act and official misconduct because arrestees cannot legally consent to sexual contact with police officers while in custody and even if they could O'Rourke threatened to take the victim back to jail if she didn't suck his dick which constitutes coercion. O'Rourke has already been fired by the TCSO for a separate incident which took place on November 21st. In that incident O'Rourke is accused of making an "inappropriate verbal comment of a sexual nature." Following his termination for cause the TCSO alerted the state's Division of Criminal Justice Services in an effort to get his police certification revoked. We are not sure if O'Rourke was working for the TCSO at the time of the alleged blow job but we do know that he was employed as a Geneseo police officer at the time. Getting O'Rourke's certification revoked is important because without that it is too likely that he will just find a new job with a different department. Chesapeake Police officer Timothy Newton was denied bond after being busted with child pornography last week in what began as a sexual assault investigation involving a child. Police responded to a complaint that Newton had molested a child and found dozens of images on his phone depicting children engaged in sexual activities. He is accused of molesting a 12 year old until the child was 14 but has not been formally charged yet. Newton himself has two kids and was living with a woman along with her child by another man. Prosecutors claims that sexual assault charges will likely follow once that investigation is complete, so for now he is only being held on the child porn charges but at least the department has suspended him. However, he appears to technically still be a member of the police force pending the outcome of the case and official termination proceedings. Newton is expected to remain in jail until at least March 16th of next year when his next hearing is scheduled, but such hearings are known to be bumped up when a defendant's lawyer can argue a change in circumstances that could entitle him to bail. Hopefully the only changes in circumstances will be more charges which will likely include those for sexually assaulting the first victim with the possible addition of beastiality charges based on the discovery of material depicting animals. Juvenile correctional officer Daniel Perez is now facing multiple charges for sexually assaulting children under his supervision at the Williamson County Juvenile Detention Center in Georgetown, Texas. The county claims to have taken swift action in this case but as the video below explains, while Perez was promptly fired in July he was not charged or arrested until this week. Both assaults are believed to have occurred in the same part of the jail which does not have surveillance cameras. The guards are not believed to be equipped with body cameras either. Newnan Police officer Richard Gosch was fired and arrested last week after crashing his patrol car on his way to work. He is now charged with driving under the influence and failure to maintain a lane. According to media reports, Gosch was found on the side of Georgia Highway 54 and agreed to a breathalyzer before his arrest. The press is calling this a "crash" but the descriptions sound more like he just drove off the road. Whatever it did was enough for the a Georgia State Trooper to take notice and appropriate action.
